Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has made it clear that Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, will keep her title as an ordained pastor in RCCG

This clarification came during the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service on May 1, 2026, where Pastor Adeboye addressed inquiries about Mrs. Tinubu’s role. He pointed out that her ordination as an Assistant Pastor took place over ten years ago, well before her husband, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, entered the presidential race.

Pastor Adeboye stressed that her ordination adhered to all the church’s procedures and standards. “Her ordination was carried out in line with the church’s doctrines and regulations, and she has not breached any of them,” he affirmed.

This announcement arrives amid rising controversy and public demands for the First Lady to step down from her pastoral role. However, Pastor Adeboye firmly rejected these demands, stating that the church would not yield to any outside pressure regarding this issue. “The church will not be influenced by external factors when it comes to maintaining its values,” Adeboye declared.

Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu’s position as an ordained pastor has sparked discussions, particularly given her status as Nigeria’s First Lady. Nevertheless, Pastor Adeboye’s public endorsement ensures her ongoing participation in her pastoral responsibilities within the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

The church has always prioritized spiritual guidance and integrity, and Pastor Adeboye’s remarks reinforce its dedication to upholding its doctrines in the face of external challenges.
