Francis Fadahunsi, the Senator for Osun East in the National Assembly, made his way to the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo for questioning after receiving an invitation from the police.
He arrived at the command around 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday, accompanied by Samuel Etaifo Erale, the Commissioner of Police responsible for election security.
This invitation follows a viral video that stirred public outrage, where the senator was accused of telling his supporters from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to “kill” members of the Accord Party in the lead-up to the Osun State governorship election.
Previously, the Osun State Police Command had summoned Fadahunsi to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Osogbo to shed light on the comments he allegedly made during an APC campaign rally in Ilesa.
In a letter dated August 11, 2026, and signed by Commissioner Erale, Fadahunsi was instructed to report to the SCID on Wednesday, August 12, at 11:00 a.m.
The police emphasized that this invitation was crucial to clarify the statements attributed to the senator during the campaign event.
This situation has sparked a wave of reactions from political figures and the public alike, with many demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged comments as the state gears up for the governorship election on Saturday.
