PFIFPC Figure Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew Calls for Investigation Into Alleged Assassination Attempts, Tanimola’s Death

July 16, 2026

Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, a figure linked to the PFIFPC, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to investigate what he described as alleged assassination attempts against him and the unexplained death of Mr. Tanimola, a person he identified as a key broker in an alleged agreement involving a government official.

Matthew made the appeal while addressing concerns surrounding his ongoing legal challenges, including allegations of forgery and impersonation.

In a statement, he said he was not hiding from the authorities but claimed he was acting out of fear for his safety.

“I am not hiding. I am only in fear for my life. I would like the President to investigate the assassination attempts on my life and the unexplained death of Mr. Tanimola, who brokered the alleged deal between myself and the Chief of Staff to the President,” Matthew said.

According to him, Mr. Tanimola allegedly requested a payment of N400 million from him, which he said he paid based on assurances and documents presented to him.

Matthew, however, admitted that he does not have a receipt proving that the funds were transferred to the Chief of Staff to the President.

“I was told to pay four hundred million Naira by Mr. Tanimola, which I paid to him. Even though I have no receipt to show that the funds went to the Chief of Staff, I had other assurances and letters that came from the SGF’s Office to say I should be assigned an office at the Federal Secretariat pending the release of funds to my agency,” he stated.

The claims have not been independently verified, and there has been no official confirmation linking any government official to the alleged transaction.

Matthew’s statement comes amid allegations of forgery and impersonation charges involving him. Authorities have not publicly confirmed details of all allegations surrounding the matter.

He is asking for a presidential investigation, saying such an inquiry would help establish the facts surrounding the alleged agreement, the financial transaction, and the circumstances surrounding Mr. Tanimola’s death.

The Presidency and relevant authorities are yet to issue an official response to the claims.
