Galatasaray’s Mario Lemina Hails Victor Osimhen as “World’s Best Striker”

May 14, 2026

  • Galatasaray midfielder Mario Lemina has described Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the most complete forward he has ever played alongside, calling him the best striker in the world.
  • Lemina made the comments during an appearance on The 360 Experience with Onan Khosi, with his remarks shared by Galatasaray fan page Forza Cimbom.

“Victor Osimhen is the world’s best striker,” Lemina said. “He is the most complete striker I have seen in my life. I think he is the best I have seen in my life. He is a special one.”

The Gabonese international also praised Osimhen’s influence in the dressing room, describing him as a fierce competitor whose winning mentality inspires the entire squad.

“We love each other with Osimhen. We always want to win. When someone shouts, it is a positive thing for the team. I love that,” Lemina added. “Osimhen is a warrior. His best quality is his competitiveness. He always wants to win.”

Osimhen’s numbers this season back up Lemina’s glowing praise. In the 2025/26 Süper Lig campaign, the 27-year-old has already registered 13 goals and five assists. Last season, he finished as the league’s top scorer and guided Galatasaray to a domestic double, winning both the Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup.

The striker completed a permanent move to Galatasaray in the summer of 2025 in a €75 million deal, making him the most expensive African footballer of all time. On the international stage, Osimhen has scored 29 goals in 44 appearances for Nigeria, ranking second on the Super Eagles’ all-time scoring chart.

His club pedigree is equally impressive. Osimhen remains the highest-scoring African player in Serie A history, having previously propelled Napoli to their first league title in 33 years with a record 26 goals in the 2022/23 season.

With Lemina’s public endorsement, Osimhen’s reputation as one of the world’s elite strikers continues to grow, both at Galatasaray and on the international stage.
