An NYSC official has advised male corps members to be direct about their feelings rather than relying on gifts or food to attract female colleagues at the orientation camp.
The advice was given during a session where relationship habits among corps members were discussed. The official cautioned against using constant spending as a way to seek attention, urging male participants to clearly express their intentions instead of making assumptions.
In her words, she said:
“You like a female corper, stop buying food all the time. Open your mouth and tell her. Talk! Why are you buying her food?”
She stressed that honest communication is better than silent gestures, adding that corps members should be confident enough to say what they want instead of hiding behind repeated acts of generosity.
