In a tense showdown at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore stood up to Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney-General of the Federation. He didn’t hold back, reminding Malami of his part in stifling political dissent during the Muhammadu Buhari era. Sowore, a well-known critic of the Nigerian government, was arrested back in 2019 while Malami was at the helm as the nation’s chief law officer. “Now the system is dealing with you.”

“I want to give you my cap. This is a revolutionary cap.”

“I can never be down as long as Nigeria is concerned.”
