May 13, 2026

Frank Edoho, the renowned host of Nigeria’s popular game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, has opened up about his early years on the show, revealing how he managed to project an image of success despite earning a modest salary.

In a candid video posted on his Instagram on Tuesday, Edoho shared how he worked tirelessly to maintain a polished and affluent image while hosting the iconic show. “For the first two years, my monthly salary was just over a hundred thousand naira,” he admitted. “Yet, I had to dress in suits and carry myself as if I had all the money in the world,” he reflected.

The renowned presenter emphasized that his financial circumstances shifted significantly when telecommunications giant MTN became the show’s sponsor. Seeing an opportunity for change, Edoho took the bold step of approaching the owner of the production company to renegotiate his contract.

“When MTN came on board, I decided to put a figure on the table. My boss asked me, ‘How much do you want to be paid?’ That was when I realized the power of timing and negotiation in this industry,” he recounted.

Edoho’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a household name highlights the power of perseverance and strategic thinking in the entertainment industry. His story serves as a testament to how taking initiative and seizing opportunities can lead to significant career growth.
