- The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Ogundu Kingsley Chinda as its governorship candidate for Rivers State.
- Chinda secured a total of 268,497 votes in a primary described by party officials as peaceful and successful.
The APC Governorship Screening Committee for Rivers State announced Chinda’s victory on Thursday evening at the party secretariat, following the collation of results from wards across all 23 local government areas of the state.
Chairman of the Screening Committee, Bitrus Kwamoti, commended party members for their conduct throughout the primary exercise, describing the process as orderly and successful. Chinda’s emergence positions him as the APC standard-bearer ahead of the upcoming state elections, marking a significant moment in Rivers State politics.
